Here are my 4 steps to a beautiful, natural beauty routine:

One: Focus on Glowing Skin and White Teeth

One of the fastest ways to look flawless is to give your skin some great TLC and get those teeth looking white. Switching to more natural products can relieve your skin from toxins and chemicals. One way to do this is to make your own skin moisturizer. There are so many moisturizers out there that are full of crazy ingredients. I like something super simple – coconut oil. Coconut oil is so good for your skin. It’s naturally antibacterial and antifungal, so it will help keep your skin clear, while also giving it the moisture it needs. Many times, our skin is thirsty, which results in dry flakes to build up in our pores. Coconut oil leaves a nice glow to your look, and is a great foundation to the rest of your beauty routine. It is a simple switch you can make that is more natural.

Your teeth are also super important. I switched to a natural toothpaste, Tom’s of Maine Luminous White Toothpaste, which I grabbed at Target. It’s a natural way to whiten your teeth! Second, DIY Your Contour Powder and Highlight Cream:

Making your own contour and highlight palette that is natural and glowing is such a great way to keep your look natural and chemical-free. Cheeks are just as important as teeth. You can make your own contouring powder, or bronzer in about 5 minutes, it’s so easy! Here’s the recipe:


  • 1 tablespoon cacao or cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 8 drops orange, lavender or rosemary essential oil

To make your natural highlighter, just mix a tablespoon of coconut oil with a natural, shimmering eye shadow. Start with 1 TBSP of coconut oil and a teaspoon of shadow. Test it on your hand, and see how shimmery it is. Then add more oil or shadow depending on what you are after! Make sure to store both your contour powder and highlight cream in airtight containers.

Focus the highlighter on your forehead, chin, bridge of nose, eyelids, brow bone and upper cheeks. This will brighten you up and make you look more alive!

Contour just below your cheekbone, up your temples and on your hairline to add some color to your skin. A healthy tone is what this will do and bring out those cheekbones!

Third, Bring Out Those Lashes:

When going for a natural look, don’t skip on lashes! Amplifying your lashes will make you look awake and your eyes bigger. I believe in a natural, non-toxic mascara for this. You can attempt to create your own, but that’s difficult. There are a lot of great non-toxic mascaras out there, and it takes personal preference to see which one works for you. I believe each person is so different with mascara! And, because mascara makes such a huge difference, it’s worth buying a product that is well made and non-toxic.

Fourth, Color Correct:

Even with a great skin-care routine and natural products, there will always be those red spots or dark circles that need some attention. For this, to stay natural I suggest a mineral color corrector cream or powder. You don’t need to use much, but it will finish off your look, so you feel great, but still look totally natural. This is totally different than foundation or concealer. These completely cover your natural skin. A color corrector just tones out the redness or darkness under eyes. It’s a light effect, that allows you to be free of makeup, while still having a flawless appearance and letting your natural skin shine through.

These tips will help you leave the house feeling and looking beautiful, with a completely natural routine. Sometimes going more natural helps your skin clear even more, which allows you to wear less and less makeup!
