5 Signs Mama and Kids Need Probiotics: A Top Guide Your gut plays an important role in your health and your kid’s health, yet it can often be overlooked. Breastfeeding mothers, breastfed babies, and kids benefit greatly from a healthy digestive tract and gut microbiome. The good news is that the gut and brain have a symbiotic relationship, and I have learned from personal experience with gastrointestinal issues (irritable bowel syndrome) the impact your gut can have on your emotional and mental state. For me it seemed that stress affected my gut, and my gut issues affected my stress levels. Because of this I did a lot of research on the gut and digestive health, and I found this article and this book to be one of the best resources for fully understanding how your gut is directly connected to your brain. In this day and age, with stress, added sugar, processed…

All opinions are mine alone#ad #GetJohnsonsBaby #ChooseGentle Getting your baby to sleep longer through the  night can seem impossible in the early months of motherhood. Sleep becomes this commodity we will do almost anything for. I remember with my first baby, he was wide awake in the middle of the night, and I had tried everything to get him tired. I had him swinging for a good hour with music on just staring at him with my eyes drooping shut every 10 seconds. Since the early days, and two babies later, I’ve found some things that work really well to help get babies to sleep longer through the night.  A Warm Bubble Bath: Make sure to click on the item above to shop! This actually makes a huge difference in relaxing the baby, their muscles and allowing for…

There is a critical time period between 1 and 3 years, when your baby’s brain is growing and developing. They are soaking in all the feels and emotions with their parents and primary caregivers, developing language skills, learning important lessons and so much more. The brain is undergoing massive transformation and development, and there are ways you can nourish and encourage this important growth period. Here are 5 ways you can help cultivate and nourish your toddler’s brain development during this crucial time: First, Nutrition Is Key: I know for me, with an 18-month old, I am trying to…

This post is sponsored by Baby Trend, a company I love and have loved for many years.  #BabyTrendFamily I’ve gotten back to my running in the past few months now that I have one child in a small Pre-K class for a few hours. Boy does it feel good now, even though it was miserable at first. I talk all about how to start running again after having babies. Make sure to Pin that one for later. One of the problems I ran into while starting to run was keeping my babies entertained. A 3-year-old and one-year-old don’t like to sit still for very long. This leads to whining and crying, which completely ruins my focus. To be able to run for more than 10 minutes, I had to come up with some clever ways to keep my children entertained. We don’t have pads for our kids, and I am OBSESSED…

Shopping for baby items is one of my most favorite things to do while pregnant. It gets progressively less fun as you accumulate more and more with each child, but I remember with my first baby the world of excitement and cuteness as I shopped and researched what to get. Fast-forward to 5.5 years later, and I’ve survived the first year with baby three times. This is a super comprehensive list of the gear I KNOW you need to get through your first year. This is really the only list you need to survive and thrive, as well as grab some cute photos because everything is totally Instagram-worthy. These are also all items I still have and use, or used and handed to my younger sisters, so I they’ve been used for multiple babies in our family. First, if you haven’t signed up for a registry yet, Amazon is a…

As a millennial mama, I am just as concerned about function as I am about style. I am focused on minimalism, quality and aesthetic when it comes to baby items. There are some beautiful companies out there now that are the result of millennials pushing for better quality, better function and overall beautiful design. I mean, as millennials we want nothing but the highest standards! Well, I am so excited I’ve scored the internet to find a full list of these items, created by intentional companies to ease the minds of millennial mamas, while still keeping their gear totally instagram-worthy at all times. Here’s the complete list that you must add to your registry. If you haven’t got your registry started yet, the Amazon Baby Registry is awesome because you can get everything there! Who doesn’t shop on Amazon, and they give you $100 towards diapers and wipes!! Can’t go…

I’ve had to prepare for birth three times now. Each time I learned a bit more about what I need to stock up on, or I don’t want to run out of when I have a newborn. It’s so wonderful to sit at home and just enjoy baby, and NOT have to have anyone run to the store for you. I will never forget one of my last photos being 38 weeks pregnant wondering around Target, throwing all these items in my cart. I save this task for some of the last few weeks of pregnancy because I am bored, and all I can do is waddle around. This particular list is just what mamas need in the first few weeks postpartum, to make sure you are comfortable and happy, and no emergency store visits! Before you get into the list, make sure you sign up for a free trial…

I’ve been obsessed with strollers in my almost-five years of being a mom. I’ve had joggers, double joggers, umbrella strollers, standard double strollers and more. There’s some information you should know when you are a new mom thinking about which stroller you might want to invest in. I talked about how I forgot an umbrella stroller on my first registry. I’ll go over that here, as well as what each stroller-type is, and the kind I recommend. It’s important that you know all of this because I had no idea, and ended up buying and returning a few strollers. This post contains affiliate links.  First, think about how many babies you are planning on having. I originally chose the BOB Stroller for my first baby. If you are planning on only having one child, this stroller is AMAZING! There is a reason it’s so popular and I loved it, but…

Deciding what to bring to the hospital is actually really fun, in my opinion. I always save packing until the last month or so because my babies come at the very last second on the due date, or late. I always envied the mamas that got to deliver a healthy baby early. The last few months of pregnancy, I’m totally over it. Like, don’t want to be pregnant and looking for any sign of early labor. I try to leave packing the hospital bag for this time period. To help me through the long, last few weeks. I think packing the hospital bag is super fun, and there are some items I’ve brought with me every single time because they are important, and you don’t want to be without them! I’m also reading all about labor in various books and courses. If you are wanting to go natural, I wish…

Well, I am a mom of three now, and boy were there some things I totally and utterly missed out on because I didn’t put them on my registry. Do you know how many clothes I got? Blankets and cute things that were to die for at the time, but totally not that useful? I literally had a Boppy Pillow sitting in my closet for three years until I gave it to my sister. I just thought I needed it. PS, if you sign up for Amazon’s Baby Registry, you get $100 dollars towards diapers and wipes. Believe me, you need it, and everyone uses Amazon! I recently did my first few months with the diaper subscription. I am so mad I never did that before. Totally worth it. I’ll be reviewing it here soon. Baby Registry – $100 credit towards diapers and wipes As a first time mom, its…
