Basking in the glistening sunlight as it peeks in through the window, I sit in my glider rocker gently rocking my sweet little one to sleep after a quiet time of nursing and bonding together. Sipping on my water, I smile as I gaze down at the adorable little face falling asleep in my arms as he lays on the nursing pillow that I received as a gift at my baby shower. What an incredible feeling, I think to myself, this endless bliss of love for such a tiny person I just barely met, yet the desire to love, care and protect this sweet child is filling my entire being with immense determination and joy. This was not my first time having a baby, and may not be my last. I do, however, feel it is somewhat different each and every time we have a child and I choose to breastfeed as the technology advances so quickly. We’ve gotten to enjoy things like being able to pump breast milk when needed at a comfortable and convenient rate, so my husband can help feed the baby too, and we discovered how much we love the video monitor for the baby’s crib area which helps immensely to ease my mind when I’m making dinner and my husband or one of the kids is trying to feed the baby a bottle. These cool tech gifts and tools among other fascinating must-have products are to your benefit as you plan ahead for breastfeeding your next little addition to the family.Â
In my time as a mother and observing my husband’s role as a father, I felt they were some real essential baby items I shouldn’t go without this time around. Join me in exploring a list of some of my favorites and other very helpful breastfeeding tools, tech, and gear.Â

Remember some of the most important rules to choosing the right breastfeeding accessories, clothing, and breast care items are to keep in mind your comfort level, the environment you spend your time in days, and the proximity to a refrigerator for storing breast milk that is pumped. If you are going to be on the go a lot, you’ll probably need a good breast pump and cover-up. If you are a stay-at-home mom and spend most of your days around the house, you’ll want a good nursing pillow, and storage containers to hold expressed milk between feedings in the refrigerator. You get the idea. Just think about what your true needs are with breastfeeding, choose your various items and necessities, and you’ll soon be a pro at nursing your sweet baby in comfort.Â
