Pregnancy is a wonderful time in a woman’s life, but it can also be a challenging one, especially when it comes to physical discomfort. As your body changes and your baby grows, you may experience lower back and/or pelvic pain, which can make it difficult to go about your day-to-day activities. Thankfully, there is a simple solution to this problem – The Embrace, which is the newest maternity support belt on the market.
The Embrace is specially designed to provide support to the lower back and pelvis during pregnancy. The Embrace is adjustable, so you can customize the level of support to suit your needs, and it is made from soft, breathable fabric that won’t irritate your skin.
Why do you need The Embrace?
As your baby grows and your body changes, your center of gravity shifts forward, putting pressure on your lower back and pelvis. This can lead to lower back pain, pelvic pain, and even sciatica. The Embrace can help alleviate these symptoms by providing support to your lower back and pelvis, redistributing the weight of your baby, and improving your posture.
The Embrace can also help relieve round ligament pain. The round ligaments are a pair of ligaments that attach the uterus to the groin area. As your baby grows, these ligaments stretch and can cause pain and discomfort. A pregnancy support belt like The Embrace can help support these ligaments and other abdominal muscles to reduce the pain and discomfort.
It is great for active women to wear for everyday activities. It can be worn smoothly under all your clothes including for yoga or work. The Embrace provides full support for the weight of a growing baby from the top and bottom of the pregnant belly while helping to maintain good posture. How did Sara come up with The Embrace?
At 28 weeks pregnant, a time at which an expectant mother wants to be nesting and preparing, Sara Dillard was put on bedrest due to debilitating back pain from sciatica. Unfortunately, many women deal with back issues during pregnancy. The severity can range from slightly achy to severely agonizing, and it can include low back pain, middle back or hip pain.
With twins on the way, Sara had tried everything on the market in hopes of alleviating her suffering. The maternity belts she found either failed to fix the problem, or helped slightly, but were not designed in a flattering or pragmatic enough style that she felt comfortable and confidant enough to wear them outside of her home.
Each pregnancy belly band had a problem, either they were too hot, thick under clothing, had velcro closure that stuck to everything, were itchy or could not be worn for daily activities. Being a problem solver by nature, Sara felt called to create a solution to this ubiquitous challenge that she knew plagued so many of her fellow moms-to-be.
Sara calls this “leading by the why,” and her “why” was to construct a way in which pregnant women could feel supported (literally and figuratively), by lessening the physical stress carrying a baby can place on the body—in a smart and stylish way, not just another basic pregnancy support band.
While bound to her bed, Sara began the mental engineering of “The Embrace” and started down a path that would make pregnancy easier for countless other women.
As a businesswoman, Sara maintains that the authenticity factor—being honest, vulnerable, and true to oneself—is the surest way to be successful. Her goal is not only to help other women, but also to act as an example for rising generations of young ladies.
The upcoming plans for The Embrace, including retail launches and a postpartum line, have expectant mamas even more excited for the future!
