It’s the new year, and that means it’s time to get organized and plan for an amazing year! I’m motivated and ready– are you?

In order to accomplish your goals this year, you need to get organized. So let’s jump in and learn about tips and tools for how you can stay organized and focused in 2023!

Tips for Staying OrganizedTips and Tools for Staying Organized and Focused in 2023

This simple organizational tips will help you find ways to stay organized and focused for this year and beyond!

Plan

In all things, plan. I know this may seem obvious, but it’s the single most important factor in whether a person meets his or her goals and experiences success. Success and achievement do not happen by accident. Planning takes many different forms and impacts every aspect of a person’s life.

The first step is to have a planner. This can be a traditional in-hand planner, a bullet journal, or an app like Google Calendar. Whatever you choose, make sure it fits with your 2023 goals and focus and it works for your lifestyle. Just make sure you use it, and use it often. A planner is only as helpful as you let it be.

Organize your cords

Chances are you have more than one device you use daily. You have your phone, laptop and/or tablet, Kindle (or other e-readers), Bluetooth headphones, smartwatch, and the list go on. And this is just for you. What about the others in your family? That only adds to the number of cords lying and dangling throughout your house. Try a charging organizer (or maybe two or three) to place throughout the house to organize and charge all of these devices.

Be ready for the day

Your day seems lighter and your to-do list seems even more possible if you wake up prepared for the day. Spend the extra time before bed programming your coffee maker, planning and preparing your meals, and even choose your outfits for the week using a hanging closet organizer

Budget

Just like having a planner helps you achieve your goals, having a budgeting tool helps you conquer your specific financial goals. There are several tools available to help you budget. A couple of popular free options are Mint and EveryDollar. You Need a Budget is a paid service that is versatile and comprehensive and offers users a 34-day free trial to take it for a test drive.

Tools for Staying Organized

Clean your inbox

Keep your email inbox clean, filter messages, unsubscribe to websites and stores’ constant emails (except for this one, of course), and have labels for everything in Gmail.

Make an actual to-do list

Make an actual to-do list that you can cross items off once you tackle them.  If your list gets too long, try the Post-It note method. Write 3 things you can accomplish in the next 25 minutes and get to work. Once you’ve finished those three tasks, crumple up the Post-It note and make a new one, until everything is done. A digital option is Google Keep. Either way, you get the satisfaction of crossing things off your to-do list.

Set time limits

Follow the Pomodoro method and break down your activities into smaller intervals. Use a timer like this one and give yourself small tasks to do that all go towards achieving a larger goal.

If you take anything from this article, it should be that being organized and focused always leads to success and achievement of goals. It is my hope that you have been able to take at least one nugget from this and apply it to your goals this year. Here’s to making 2021 amazing! Cheers!
