I’ve been pregnant or nursing for over 5 years now. Every time I am pregnant, I do my best to include a healthy, clean protein powder that benefits both me and my baby. Its so important to get enough protein, yet it is often difficult because protein tastes like garbage. I don’t particularly like meat in general, and when I’m pregnant it is even worse. The only protein I like is cheese, and that’s not the best for achieving a belly-only pregnancy.
This is where protein powder comes in!! I talk about this powder for breastfeeding mamas too in another post, because its really great for milk supply as well! Which means that you can keep using it when baby arrives, and it will help with your milk! I have some great, milk boosting smoothie bowl recipes that are so yummy (and pretty!), so save those for later, and let me get into the powder and why I like it. Follow me on Insta for my daily smoothie photos and videos to get more recipe and fitness inspo too!
Ideal Raw is a super clean, organic, plant-based protein powder. One of my biggest issues with protein powders is the sweeteners used. A lot of them use sucralose, which I can’t digest. They taste great, but they cause a lot of gas and bloating for me. Ideal Raw is sweetened with Stevia, so there are no issues for digestion at all! Let’s take a look at the ingredients, so you understand what you are nourishing your body, and the new baby with:
IdealRaw Plant Protein Blend (Organic Rice Protein, Organic Pea Protein, Organic Coconut Protein, Organic Chia Protein, Organic Sunflower Protein, Organic Golden Flax Protein, Organic Pumpkin Protein), Organic Coconut Milk Powder, Natural Flavoring, Organic Vanilla Sugar, Sodium Chloride, Organic Stevia, SuperFruits Blend (Organic Cranberries, Organic Pomegranate, Organic Broccoli, Organic Wheat Grass, Organic Beet Powder)
I love that I don’t see any chemicals on this list. Sodium Chloride is just table salt. Everything else is made from the earth, and something your body can recognize and digest. That’s a big deal, and it makes me happy. The SuperFruits blend is particularly great because it has the fruits we don’t naturally eat a lot of, like cranberries or pomegranates, but offer lots of nutritional value. Not sure about you, but I’m not over here making wheat grass juices every day. That’s totally expensive and not something I want to do, but the protein powder has it taken care of for you!

What I also like is that there’s a good blend of different kinds of proteins. This allows for more nutrients and vitamins to come in. A blend allows you to consume various, natural foods, rather than purely protein powder every day. It helps from getting overloaded on one food and nutrient.
I highly encourage you to grab the sample bundle, where you can try a few flavors and get a $10 gift card towards a tub if you like it, or they are offering 22% off in February right now with code: RawPro!
