How can I make my Halloween mask more comfortable?

This is an important question to keep in mind! The last thing that you want is to have a mask that isn’t comfortable or just doesn’t fit at all. In fact, the more comfortable that you can make your mask, the better.

Some simple tips for this are to have a breathable fabric for the mask so that it doesn’t make you feel like oyu’re running out of air. You can also use a good elastic that is thicker to hold your mask in place so it isn’t cutting into your skin or head, too.

How do you make a homemade Halloween mask?

That is why you’re here! In the following examples, you’ll find some of the easiest and most creative masks, ever. Some are unique and others are common but when you’re able to make them at home, they truly do become one of a kind.

DIY Halloween Masks

Here are some fun Halloween masks that you can easily make for the kids. Or make them a little bit bigger and wear them yourself, too!

Paper Plate Skeleton Mask

I’m obsessed with this simple paper plate mask. First off, it’s a super fun way to make skeletons less “scary”. (Anything that you can do to help the kids actually enjoy the Halloween holiday is important and making certain things less spooky is always a good idea.)

I also really like how quick and simple this homemade mask is. It’s one of those simple crafts that you can make for a backup, just in case they have a different mask that just gets too uncomfortable to wear any longer.

Felt Animal Halloween Masks

Feeling a little crafty? What I love about these felt animal masks is that they’re really, really beautiful. They literally look like you went right out to the store and bought them.

Just keep in mind that when you’re making these for your child, they’re going to be a bit heavy fabric (felt!) and not quite as breathable material as other masks might be.

But you can be certain that they’ll last and be good enough to use over and over again. You’ll find instructions for a Felt Wolf, Felt Owl, Felt Dragon, and a Felt Raccoon. So if you have four kids, you can create your own little animal zoo for Halloween!

Or, if you want to use these felt masks for the family, you can create a mama dragon face mask with a bunch of baby dragons, too!

Printable Unicorn Mask

Everyone loves unicorns. There is no denying that fact, at all. In fact, unicorns have pretty much taken over the minds of kids all over the world. And for that, it just makes sense to have a Unicorn mask on hand for Halloween.

Once the unicorn template is printed, it’s up to your child to color and decorate it to look however they want! They can use bright colors, glitter, spooky colors, or really anything that they want.

You might need to help them put it together but once you do, they’re going to love it!

Three Little Pigs Mask

This craft is for very young kiddos, preschool, or maybe even toddler age. And really what it does is gives them control to create their own fun paper plate Three Little Pig Mask to hold up and have for Halloween.

This mask craft is really, really simple but you can be certain that your toddler will be proud to show off their paper plate mask that they created all on their own!

Printable Bunny or Tiger Mask

Sometimes, we all just need a break when it comes to creativity and we just have time to print off something cute and try to find a matching outfit to coordinate it with. We’ve all been there. It’s okay.

This is why these printable bunny/printable tiger masks are on the list! They’re as simple as printing out the template, adding a string, and boom – just like that, you’re child has an awesome Halloween mask without having to head to the store or spend a dime.

And if your kids are like my kids, print off both of them. Because there is a good chance that for the first half of Halloween they’re going to want to be a bunny and for the second half they’re going to want to be a tiger!

Egg Carton Masks

Okay, these are the cutest. I’m pretty much obsessed with upcycling and reusing anything that I can to make something even better. So when I came across this adorable image for Egg Carton Masks, I knew I was going to be hooked.

Once you see the mask, you’ll see that all you need is a bit of paint, a little bit of creativity, and a way to hold it onto your child’s face and you’ve got yourself one of the cutest and most unique Halloween face masks, ever.

As you can see, there are a lot of different ways that you can make up your own Halloween masks at home or print out ones for that last-minute costume.

While there are geared towards kids, you can print them or make them for yourself as well.

The main thing to think about when you’re creating your Halloween masks is to let your child have been and be as creative as they want. Halloween is a fun time where they can use their imagination and having a fun mask to showcase that is wonderful.
