Being pregnant is one of my favorite things ever. Okay, not really at all, and I’ve been pregnant three times now. There is a lot I don’t like about being pregnant including the all-day morning sickness (hello permanent hang over), peeing all the time, leg cramps and sweating are just a few. But, I have found there are some great thins you can do to really have your best pregnancy ever. I learned a lot from my first pregnancy, which helped me get through my second and third pregnancies, where I was super pregnant in the hot summer. I’m a full year postpartum now with my third baby, and I find myself reminiscing on my three birthing experiences. The memories that stand out the most are the things that shocked me. The experiences I was totally unprepared for. I read all the birthing books and delivery stories (this one was my favorite!). I envisioned both natural and hospital births. I tried to squat and workout to prepare for a quick labor. I even worked on my milk supply before my first baby arrived. With all that thought and preparation, some things still happened I never expected. I have some great delivery tips over on this post, and here are the 5 things that stand out the most: One: Back Labor I briefly read on back labor in a few stories and books. I didn’t realize the amount of pain that comes with it. Having one labor with back…
As a mom of three busy, wild rascals, I rarely have an opportunity to workout or just think. I find myself driving the kids around aimlessly when I just want to let my brain relax and they are quiet in the car. Giving your brain freedom to wander is essential for rest and creativity. Running is my favorite way to de-stress and workout at the same time. I believe, and many studies agree, that running is very productive for your brain. For the last 4.5 years, I haven’t been running. I’ve been pregnant and having babies. Nursing and recovering. Now that my baby is 14 months, and the oldest is almost 5, I’ve started running again, and it feels so good. You really can start running again after years of not running. It’s not fun, but so worth it once you get going. After just a few weeks of running…

All opinions are mine alone. #GerberPureWater #CollectiveBias This may seem like a simple topic, but with my first baby, I had no idea when to give him anything solid to eat. I mean, he was already so chubby. But, as he hit about 9 months or so, he was wanting to eat everything we were eating. My natural instincts told me that if he wanted some, give it to him. But, as a first-time mom, I was concerned my instincts were not instincts, but just guesses. If you are ever unsure on your mom instincts, trust your pediatrician for any advice! Fast-forward to baby number three, and now I am confident on transitioning babies from nursing to solid foods. I’m in the transition as we speak with my 10-month-old. He literally screams if he doesn’t get to eat…
Baby bottoms are the cutest. Red baby bottoms are not cute, and ultimately I cringe at the sight of any baby rash signs because I can’t stand the thought of my little angel red and hurting. I’ve tried all the diaper rash creams in my years of being a mom of little ones. My third baby is still in diapers (please send any potty training tips for one-year-olds my way!), and I’ve spent the last 4 years of my life with a child in diapers, so I’ve also slathered on lots of cream. With my first baby, I thought I had the right cream ready to go for my new baby. As the first onset of diaper rash set in, as it usually does at some point, I slathered on my cream and waited. The redness got worse. What?! Of course I called my mom. She asked if I had…
