I’ve been blogging for almost a year now, but I haven’t gotten too much into income reports like some of the other bloggers you will find. I just didn’t want to report $20 here and there, and I was more interested in writing. That is my true passion. Writing about motherhood. My goal is to continue to write and develop my writing, but also have my blog provide an income. When the day came that I added up the income streams, and they were over $1,000 I couldn’t believe it! Skip to the bottom of the post for the breakdown of the income streams. Since I wrote this post a year ago, I have gotten myself in the 5k range in terms of income for my blog, and a lot of that is because of sponsored posts. You don’t have to have just a lot of traffic for sponsored posts,…
I wrote a post a couple weeks ago about the two investments I made in my blog, which substantially increased my traffic. I am writing again about my traffic because I want you all to understand how completely honest and sincere I am, that these two resources have dramatically increased my page views. In the previous post, Pageview Breakthrough: How I Went from 6k to over 17k in One Month, I talk about the giant leap in page views I accomplished for April. Update: I made it to 100k pageviews in August 2017, and I was accepted to Adthrive, one of the top ad agencies! I also make over 3k now woot woot! Cracking the code for page views is an obsession I failed to achieve. I couldn’t do it! I was stuck for months around 6k or less visits. I needed help. I finally made some investments for my blog, one being a Pinterest strategy book, and the other specifically a traffic book. Update: I am above 100k pageviews as of August 2017, and making over 3k a month. Scroll to the end to grab my free pdf on how to make money blogging, without teaching anyone to blog. Making My First $1000 From Blogging I bought an eBook to help me with Pinterest. I literally was failing, and not understanding how to pin to group boards. This eBook transformed my game, and I got my first viral pin the month I bought that book. I wrote about my first viral pin in more detail, How I Got My First Viral Pin as well…
I was the blogger who was obsessed with reading income reports from other bloggers. Most of us are working hard when we first start our blogs, to figure out the famous equation. What plus what will bring in a decent amount of money. By studying other bloggers income reports, I was able to understand the different income streams that are out there. But, many bloggers, myself included, where always wanting me to buy something. They mentioned their referrals to Convertkit or BoardBooster, and I thought, great, but I’m not making any money, so I can’t buy anything yet. Update: I am above 50k pageviews and made my first $1,000!!! Making My First $1000 From Blogging A couple months later, my pride was going down, and I was desperate to get my traffic up. I had been blogging six months and made $50. I found Carly’s book, Pinteresting Strategies, and because…

Okay, this is the post I wish I read when I first started blogging. When I first started, I was so excited to write, photograph and merge a passion into a business. Writing, marketing and all-things motherhood are basically ho I am at that core. My degree is in Communications, I lived and breathed entrepreneurship in college, and I still have a small web-design and online marketing company that I take select clients for. That being said, I did not set myself up correctly to create a passive income from blogging in the beginning. I’ve solved that problem finally, after 8 months of blogging, and you definitely don’t need to wait that long. This is the only post you need to read to create a blog that increases in traffic and income each month. And no, I didn’t invest in expensive courses to do this. I may do that soon, but…
So, I’ve mentioned a few times in my post, I am a new blogger. I am just shy of 6 months blogging very part time. As in, I have a 6 month old baby, two toddler boys, no steady nanny and we’ve moved across country…so let’s just say my blog gets the short-end of the stick when it comes to attention. **EDIT! I signed up without realizing that AdBuff requires an average of 2k pageviews per day. I was able to get the accunt going, insert ads and build some income, then to have them close my account. As of last month, I exceed their requirements, so I am resigning up! You might also like: My Massive Traffic Boost: 6k to 40k Page views in Two Months Pageview Breakthrough: How I Went from 6k to over 17k in One Month How I Turned $17.99 Into Over $300 With One Blog…
I’ve always been daunted by the idea of building an email list. What will I email them? What do I have to offer that people are interested in? What valuable information can I offer as a freebie incentive? If you want to skip straight to the questions, sign up here! As a new blogger, the task of coming up with an offer that will help other bloggers is hard because we aren’t yet confident in our abilities. Let’s Start Your Blog and Make Money Now By Doing What I Should’ve Done Well, it took me quite some time to craft something. I ran multiple ideas over in my head, and basically, I didn’t put pressure on myself to build an email list right away. With pressure, I was afraid my offer wouldn’t be genuine or just a cheesy attempt to get sign ups. I focused on creating content I loved first. I wrote, and…
Do you know how much laundry we have with two toddler boys and a baby? I can’t tell you how many times I walk outside to find them naked, clothes thrown in the bushes, mud and pool. I wish I could just tape on some underwear and leave it at that. A Tarzan-type attire suites them much better really. Laundry is something I have a very hard time keeping up with. Putting the clothes in the wash is a breeze. Getting them to the dryer in a timely manner is a little more difficult, but I’ve gotten better. Getting them folded to a proper place? Nearly impossible. And sometimes the sheer impossibility is so discouraging. I look at the laundry pile slowly growing larger and larger, and it seems like this massive mountain I have to climb with two toddlers clinging to each leg, and a baby in my arms.…
Instagram, as I’ve said in a couple other posts, is my favorite social media platform because it is aesthetic, and I love photos. Many bloggers see Instagram as another method to build a following and traffic source…which it is, but if that’s all you see it as, you’re missing out on a lot. I’ve just gone over the 1k mark. That’s huge when you are just starting out on Instagram, and I’ve been able to work with large brands like JORD Watches, Smile Brilliant, DockATot, Lillebaby, Finn and Emma and more. I’ve also connected with smaller, local brands to work together, where I’ve either been paid to post, or posted in exchange for the product, depending on the brand’s policies. You don’t have to have a large following for the brands you love to be interested in you. My account is proof! Quick tip on sponsored posts and blogging. Since I wrote…
