As a new blogger, I am basically doing a trial-and-error method when it comes to getting my content out to readers. I actually love writing on all things motherhood and lifestyle, and taking the photos is another passion of mine, but it’s not that fun when no one knows or reads because they don’t know you exist. So, I too am working to make my blog visible. Update: I am above 200k page views between this blog and my new blog. This strategy really works well! Making My First $1000 From Blogging Let’s Start Your Blog and Make Money Now By Doing What I Should’ve Done I haven’t taken the fast road to gaining views. I focused on building content, and my Instagram first. Instagram is a revenue source and business all on its own, so I’ve been over there working with brands and connecting with more and more people…

Instagram is my favorite social media outlet because I love taking photos. I am infatuated with the beauty around me, and I want to capture and enhance it. Instagram is also one of the most important profiles for moms and bloggers. Moms capture their memories, and bloggers tell their stories. Did you know that blog articles with more images are more likely to be shared? The stat states that articles with photos every 75-100 words were shared twice as much on social media, That means, if you’re a blogger, your images need to be on-point and plenty. Whether you are a mom looking to take better photos of your kids, or a blogger wanting to up your Instagram quality, these are the articles and tips that I found most helpful to improve the quality of my photos. I also have a ton of my own tips and tricks on taking photos, editing photos, how…

Affiliate marketing is one of the number one ways bloggers earn money. So, as a new blogger here, I did my research, and I read tons of income-report posts, like I’m sure many of you are doing. When you’re new to blogging, everything is overwhelming. I will never forget when I first signed up for ShareASale, and I was so confused at the layout and what seemed like a million options…then I had to think of a post to write about something on the site??? How I Got My First Viral Pin I still haven’t gotten anything set up with ShareASale, and I still don’t get it. To be frank, as a new blogger with an actual business plan, who’s done tons of research, it’s just not a place I am going to spend a lot of time on as an income stream. To me, that’s going to be a…

It’s no secret moms and bloggers love free items. We are all working hard to raise our kids and offer some sort of financial contribution, which is where free products come in! I love to try a new product, especially when it turns out that I love it. You don’t have to be a blogger to receive complimentary items. How I Got My First Viral Pin There’s a site called Influenster, and you don’t have to be a blogger to sign up. It’s mainly for people who have social impact of all ranges. You can be a mom with lots of Facebook friends and Instagram followers, or a newbie blogger working hard to extend your reach. What I love about this place is there is a product for everyone. I signed up just a week ago, so I am working on getting enough badges to receive items to review. Getting…

Millennial Moms are like the popular social group right now. We’re the girls who do it all. We are intelligent, educated, savvy, business owners and full-time moms. We do an insane amount, yet we are always looking for more ways to be home and make money. Its basically one of the biggest dreams we aspire to achieve:to stay home with our children and provide financially in some way. There are a lot of posts listing tons of work-at-home jobs where companies are hiring sales reps and associates, but the pay isn’t that great, and you still need someone to watch your kids while you do your job 8-5 remotely. The insanely creative ideas I have for you are not those. These are ideas that tap into the skills of Millennial Moms, have pay potential and don’t require a nanny because it can all be done on your own schedule. Let’s…

Let’s get the elephant out of the room here first, concerning the recent political decisions and events. I know there is a lot of anger and frustration with many actions recently, but I’m not here to discuss that regarding Ivanka. I want to talk about what she’s taught me about being a work -at-home mother. I saw her instagram post the other day, illustrating a major milestone in her life. It was her youngest son crawling for the first time. He’s a doll face. Then, I went to her Facebook page to see what kind of comments she might have regarding recent events with Nordstrom and other business relationships that are no more. I expected to see something. A politically correct statement of some kind, but you know what I saw? Videos and pictures of her children just like any other mom. See, Ivanka Trump may be handling some dips…

Moms and bloggers are always striving to get the perfect picture, myself included. I climbed on our counters, head cocked away from the ceiling, attempting to capture the innocence of a fun sink-bath the other night. I knew it was dark out, and all I had was the artificial light of our house, (which is not good for photos) but, I didn’t let that stop me. I snapped away, and I just used my fool-proof editing routine to make the picture prettier than it was before. This post contains affiliate links. Now, I am not a photographer at all. I use automatic on my camera most of the time, because I get confused on the settings. So if you’re a photographer reading this, I’m sorry, this is all so beginner/probably against all photography rules, but it works for me. This process is really great for those of us with a…

I started my mom blog just a few months ago. I had been thinking about starting a blog for a long time. I wanted to share my thoughts, tips, failures and favorite things. I wanted to pursue and develop my writing. I was scared to start a blog. I was scared no one would read it. I was scared all I would hear were crickets…I was silly. Every mom should have a blog, and its super easy to set yourself up with one. I’ll give you the run down of why you need a blog as well as the quick and dirty way to get yourself up and running with your own blog before Sesame street is over. I finally created my branding guidelines for my blog. Actually getting to branding the blog will be another story, but I’m almost there. I did it all myself. Now, I do have experience in graphic design and a background in web design, but I was never a branding person. I designed and created marketing materials, email campaigns and more, based off of an already-established brand most of the time. In order to brand my own blog, I needed to do some research on the most up-to-date guidelines and advice. Then, I realized that if I needed brand guidelines for my blog, and I could do it myself, I could help other bloggers as well! So, stay tuned for a freebie coming to the blog soon. Think straight forward branding template and branding guide that explains what things like “sub marks” are, while also helping you understand what the purpose of different…

Most moms are pushing to be home. Pushing to fill in a financial gap with any talents or skills they own without leaving their babies. The dream is to bring in the paycheck, while never dropping the kids off at daycare (for most).  I think we have an innate desire as women to help our husbands and partners provide financially, while still nurturing and caring for our children. But, as I’ve been working from home for a few years now, I ask myself, is it really better? Here’s the problem I see. We bring our work into our home without our children’s consent. They didn’t sign up to go to work with you each day. Bringing work home enables me to bring in extra cash without setting foot in an office or relying on someone else to care for my children, but it does put pressure on me to complete and…
