Exercise can affect your milk supply as a breastfeeding mama, but not with the gravity you might expect. Many breastfeeding mamas worry that exercising postpartum will negatively affect milk supply, and cause a drop that will affect their babies. This isn’t entirely true, and it is definitely not a main cause for milk supply to drop. The truth is, many mamas start dieting while they are exercising, so there is a nutrition factor going on at the same time as the exercise. Your milk supply could appear to be dropping, but exercising isn’t the cause. If a mama reduces calories, but does not maintain a highly nutritious diet, then we have a recipe for your body to struggle making enough milk. Lose the Baby Weight While Breastfeeding with this FREE 5-Day Jump Start! In reality, most postpartum mamas entering into a fitness plan aren’t burning as many calories as they…
Healing your abs after pregnancy can be a daunting task. I developed the Ab Rehab and Pelvic Floor Restore program to include in my full breastfeeding diet and nutrition program because all mamas need it!! I can’t tell you how many of us suffer bladder leakage, ab separation, back pain and balance issues because our abs have been so stretched and weakened during pregnancy. My Pre-Post Natal Exercises Specialist Certification is complete, and I am putting all my knowledge into this program! In the program, I don’t just give you list of exercises to complete. I give you a plan for each week with specific tasks to accomplish, and videos to show you EXACTLY what I mean. I want you to heal, find strength again and stop experiencing accidents like I did (especially after running!!) Check out the program, and you can also grab my full program, The Postpartum Cure,…
Some amazing postpartum workout apps will help you get your body back in shape after a baby. And, the postpartum workout apps that I’ve found and used also target your core, abs, pelvic floor and offer diets and meal plans. I’ve found that the best apps are premium apps because they offer the best workouts and content out there. I chose my two favorite postpartum workout apps because there honestly aren’t that many great ones out there. I also have personal experience with both of these, so I can answer questions and give you the full details of how I use them. These are postpartum workout apps I LOVE and use! I am not just listing postpartum workout apps that exist, but the ones that I use daily to stay fit with three boys, and find my body again after baby. One of the postpartum workout apps I created, which…
Working out with a toddler is interesting, but you can still get in an effective calorie burn if you do the right moves and make it fun. PLUS, toddlers act as a nice weight, and they seem to like being lifted and thrown around! Babies lay around more, which makes it easier to workout next to them, while toddlers add to the challenge by adding more weight, which is how I do this workout. I have to tell you about the yoga mat I am using from Yellow Will Yoga. This yoga mat doubles as a towel!! It is a blend of silky soft fabric, made from recycled plastic bottles & 100 % biodegradable. It is MACHINE WASHABLE!! Can you believe that?? It is also absorbs like a towel, so you are seriously good to go for any workout you use it for. They offered to send me one to…
This lactation shake is good. Like so good. It is absolutely perfect for mamas looking to keep their milk supply up, while losing the baby weight. First, it is full of blueberries which are wonderful for milk supply. See my 5 best foods for increasing milk supply and losing the baby weight to know more about what blueberries do. Anyways, the dark chocolate aspect really takes the standard blueberry smoothie to another level. Think of the chocolate covered blueberries you can get at Costco. Like that but healthy. It also secretly has a handful of spinach, for an extra milk-boost, and you will never know it is there. Lucky you 🙂 Part of the reason this is so good for your milk supply AND weight loss is because of the protein powder I use. It literally is full of milk boosting ingredients, and it is low in calories and high…
Losing the baby weight is a difficult task, especially when you have multiple children. Even once the baby weight is gone, maintaining and staying fit with kids is also difficult. I have managed to lose the baby weight three times now, in addition to staying fit with three kids at home. I don’t have a gym membership, so there isn’t a time for me to workout with no interruptions. Unless I want to workout in the middle of the night after I get all my blogging-related/momlife things done. But that just doesn’t work for me. I also attempt to sleep more than 6 hours, so getting up before the kids doesn’t work well either. I’ve managed to get up and go for a run maybe three times in my life before the kids. It actually felt amazing, but it wasn’t realistic. So, how do I stay fit with three kids…
Breastfeeding often throws a wrench in the weight loss process post baby. Milk supply maintenance, while also trying to lose weight can be tricky because your new little bundle is affected if your milk supply drops. Talk about a stressful situation, when mama is working hard to get back in shape, only to find she isn’t producing enough milk, so she throws it all to the wind and eats anything and everything with milk-producing ingredients. You can totally lose the baby weight while maintaining your milk supply. There are just a few keys to doing this, which I will go over here. If you are looking for a more in-depth plan that goes over healing postpartum, properly nourishing your body for milk supply, a meal plan and recipes and workouts to lose the baby weight, please check out my new program, The Postpartum Cure. So many mamas are having tons…

This lactation smoothie is a magical protein shake created just for breastfeeding mamas who want to keep up their milk supply, while also giving their body the proper nutrients it needs to let go of fat. This shake is so yummy, and it is a combination of three shake recipes, all of them lactation protein shakes to really give your body a milk boost. I specifically add extra protein in this shake with my favorite protein powder. It is amazing for breastfeeding mamas because of all the wonderful nutrients, and it tastes delicious. The unicorn of protein powders in my opinion. If you want to know more about what is in it, read this post. It is completely pure, free of fillers, chemicals and artificial sweeteners. Created by an amazing company, and full of nutritious flavor. I also have a video of me talking about it at the end of…
I am a huge fan of green protein shakes, especially milk-boosting ones. I love how you can throw in a bunch of spinach, and with the right blend of an awesome protein powder and ingredients, it tastes like the best dessert ever. I have no clue there is any spinach in it! This green lactation protein shake is no different. It is made with yummy and sweet kiwis, so there’s lots of sweet flavor, blended with my absolute favorite protein powder (super clean, no chemicals, no artificial sweetener, no fillers, full of superfoods…read more in this post, or watch my video below). Because I blend this with a superfoods protein powder, the protein powder itself has tons of milk-boosting ingredients. Green veggies like kale and special additions like Tumeric. There are also the digestive enzymes added to the powder, which help you break down and absorb all the protein and…
