I am at the tail end now nursing my third baby, and I started making a list of the five most important pieces of information I’ve learned, to achieve a great milk supply. I’ve also done research, took this amazing course, and learned everything I could about pumping, so I am well-versed in all things breastfeeding.  It’s super easy to stress about having enough milk. But if you focus on the right foods and helpful tools, you can really achieve a generous supply that will allow you to have a storage supply and a nice, chubby baby. Here are my 5 insanely great tips on all things lactation and breast milk supply! Increase Milk Supply With Your Food: First, you need to focus on the best foods to eat. I have an insanely popular post, The 5 Best Foods To Pump Up Your Milk Supply and Lose The Baby Weight.…

Sweets are my thing around the holidays. Chocolate covered everything, eggnog in my coffee, and cans of whipped cream were inhaled. Combine that with the big, family meals and I’ve got myself into a new feeling of full. Not just the stuffed feeling, but the groggy, puffy, bloated for days feeling. It’s not fun, but luckily there are some ways you can detox those holiday meals away. When I say detox, I don’t mean fast. Many think of detoxing as not eating, but I think of it as providing nutrients and water, while eliminating unwanted sugars, chemicals, and carb overload. First Step: Load up on “Negative Calorie” foods  These foods have calories, but they are so light in calories that the amount of energy your body spends digesting them is around the same or more than consuming them. And, these foods are super good for you. When detoxing, you want…

I have lots of memories of Thanksgiving as a child where we would cozy up on the floor, picnic style near the adult’s table. It was so fun and comfortable to have our own space where my cousins and I could laugh, play, and eat. The adults had their own space for all that adult talk we weren’t interested in. Because I have such fond memories of our Thanksgiving picnic I am completely sold on the tradition for my children. And, I put together my own kid’s table for them this year complete with a full-on coloring table cloth. I NEED them to stay busy for as long as possible. Being that they are 4,5, 3, and 1, I might get 15 minutes out of the whole thing, but sometimes that 15 minutes feels like an hour. First off, a kid’s table for Thanksgiving is a great place the kids…

Yep, you can give big this year without spending any money at all. And quite frankly, some of these ideas are better than wine openers or pillow shams from the clearance bin. I’m a frugal mama with a budget and a heart to save, so I really enjoy the creative callable during the holidays! First, make a card with a free printable and offer your time. There is nothing more precious than giving your time to someone.  If it’s a good friend, tell them you want to come over and help them with any projects or things they could use a hand with. Think of some meaningful way to give your time to those you love. Maybe it’s just listening to old stories or cleaning the house for your elderly aunt. Make it personal and make it something they need. Here are some super cute free prints from The Cottage…

Not everyone is looking, or someone is making a very silly face, but that’s real life for us. I…

We are so blessed, so they don’t understand the feelings of being hungry or cold, despite what I’ve tried to explain to them. I think its super important to get your kids involved in giving back this time of year, to help them understand what it means to help those in need. My children are finally old enough to be able to participate in activities and actually understand what we are doing, and I have partnered with the Coca-Cola™ at Walmart’s “Layer On Love” program. This is a simple program for my kids to understand and get behind. They know what it means to be cold, and that some children don’t have warm jackets! I talked to my children…
